Download: Ana Sia - "The Glass Delusion" (Mite’s Get Delusional Remix)
A hot slice of future bass from the Bay Area extraordinaire.
As the year draws to a close, the Bay Area's snarling skater-hippie Ana Sia swoops in to plant her future bass flag right at the border of tribal-influenced jungle and space-age boogie with her latest track, "The Glass Delusion."
Never one to cleave to popular tastes—she once dismissed today's banger culture as "ear rape of obvious hard music to keep folks engaged"—Ana Sia instead fancies deep cuts of textured percussion, minimal chords and complex structures. Or, as she puts it, "the best most unique/beautiful/grossly great sounds available."
The no-bullshit Californian rolls with Salva's (now defunct?!) Frite Nite crew, who she produced the excellent Surreal Estate compilation for back in 2011. Don't miss her Glass Delusion EP out now on Hot N Heavy Recordings, and download this remix from Atlanta's Mite. While you're at it, peep Ana Sia's exclusive mix for THUMP. It's a doozy.
