Multi-genre Chicago dance music veteran and Teklife member, Gant-Man, has shared a thrillingly high-energy juke remix of Kanye West's "Fade," off his just-released album The Life of Pablo. Gant Garrard collaborated with the late footwork icon DJ Rashad a number of times, and has released on labels such as Chicago institution Dance Mania, Diplo's Mad Decent, and Kode9's Hyperdub.The original version of "Fade" features prominent samples from two house music classics, namely Larry Heard AKA Mr. Fingers' "Mystery of Love" and Hardrive's "Deep Inside," so the club-oriented remixes were perhaps inevitable. Gant-Man's version does pretty much exactly what you'd want a juke rework of the track to do: the tempo is of course revved up to a ripping 160 bpm, some ear-tickling synths are added in for punctuation, and the percussion he implements is uncontainable, totally off the wall. Once you've heard it, it's a little hard to go back to the original, not unlike Hitmakerchinx's recent flip of Rihanna and Drake's "Work."
