Wiley Gave His Side of the Story on His Reignited Beef with Dizzee Rascal

He elaborated on his thoughts re: Dizzee's rumoured diss track.

Depending on your interest in music beef (ours is extremely high) you may or may not know about the longstanding feud between veteran London MCs Wiley and Dizzee Rascal. Their row, drama fans will be pleased to know, has recently been reignited after Wiley was told by an obviously anonymous source that Dizzee had possibly included a Godfather of Grime diss track on his new album Raskit, due out next month.

After popping off some tweets (which look to have been deleted since) which made him seem both amused and pissed off about the prospect, he chatted to NFTR at last weekend's Strawberries and Creem festival in Cambridge and was an ocean of zen. When asked about Dizzee, he said:

"If someone said to me 'he's got a tune for you' – why? If he had a line or two, or half a verse, do you know what I mean? But like, a whole song? That's what they said. Like, 'rah he's got a whole song for you.' Wow. Why? That's what I thought. I didn't understand man. But then I thought, 'two lines is nothing, three lines.' So I respect, I can't argue."

I guess for Wiley it all depends what Dizzee comes out with – to be honest, an entire track might actually be kind of fun. At least then we might have a hope of seeing the "ten-minute dub" the Godfather had earlier promised in retaliation…
