Deadmau5 Implicated in Twitter Ghostwriting Scandal

Is it Rob Ford? Is it DVBBS? The music world responds to the shocking allegations!

Ever since he began a lengthy sabbatical in preparation for his Exit Music for a Festival tour, Deadmau5, the Los Angeles-based Canadian DJ also known as Joel Zimmerman, has (in some circles) become known more for his tweets than his music. To add to the Mau5's woes, reports emerged today that the controversial Canadian has enlisted the help of a ghostwriter to pen his tweets.

The following tweet seems to corroborate the allegations:

Rumors circulate that an ever-growing coffee habit may have left Zimmerman with a debilitating urinary tract issue, rendering him unable to complete a tweet before toddling off to the toilet. Like many multi-national artists living in America who fear government spying, Zimmerman is likely to not take his cell phone into the washroom.

Others say that a change of heart is the cause of his writer's block. "Joel's too busy not touring and not writing music to tweet; his old tweeting schedule is just too much mistanthropy for one guy to handle," a friend in the DJ's inner circle revealed on the condition of anonymity.

Speculation is rife surrounding who may be performing ghostwriting duties. Sources say EDM act DVBBS, enjoying a boost from their song's placement in American Idol commercials, could be responsible.

Others say it may be notorious Toronto mayor and avowed Deadmau5 fan Rob Ford. So far, Ford's camp has not denied these allegations but sources eager to quash any potential obstacles to his current bid for re-election as mayor of Canada's largest cityhave claimed to have heard Ford exclaim, "Deadmau5?! Fuck that guy. I saw him once in 2007 and I'm still waiting for him to drop the beat."
