With its bare bones rhythms, single key synth lines and breathy spoken vocals, "Face The Truth" by Hercules & Love Affair alumnus Shaun J. Wright and fellow Chicago producer Alinka taps into the minimalist spirit of the Windy City's early house music anthems by the likes of Robert Owens and Larry Heard. The title song on the duo's forthcoming EP, which you can hear below, is the same sort of timeless track that has inspired dancers for decades. Following releases on Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon's seminal Classic Record Company label and their own Twirl imprint, the latest by the duo, also called Face the Truth, drops next week.The package also comes with a remix by Leeds-born, Ibiza-based duo Audiojack, who regularly deliver their own tech-house goods to labels like Hot Creations, 2020 Vision. Tsuba, Culprit and Get Physical. Two additional originals, "Pleasure" and "My Heart Is Sincere" are jacking drum sessions equally inspired by Chicago's 80s radio waves, when The Hot Mix Five made house music a massive (if local) sensation.
