Earlier this year, The Quietus published a crucial primer on South London's Endless party, a boundary-pushing night headed by producer Lexxi and regularly featuring the many-aliased Shanti and Brixton's Kamixlo. Toward the end of the piece, Kamixlo—pictured above—offers a good insight to their attitude when he says that he finds it "so dusty when a party is set to a particular type of music – it's so boring."

If you're unsure what you're listening to with "Paleta," the earth-shaking lead single off his debut Demonico EP for the CODES imprint run by Berlin label PAN and grime producer Visionist, then try to let that quote above sink in a little deeper. While on the surface grime's clenching aggression seems to surge through and distort reggaeton vocals and rhythms, once you're caught in the track's grip it's clear that Kamixlo is simply turning up the heat in a lane very much his own. We can't wait for the rest of the EP—stream the single below, check the tracklist after the jump, and be sure to get it when it's out October 16.
