The exact origins of Jag Man are easy to pinpoint. From the moment the Jaguars were named a team he wanted to be "that fan." His wife came up with the face, but the head piece came later on. When his famous Jag Cave burned down years ago, Charlie Setting promised to re-build. And re-built he has.

How did you fall in love with your team?

I have always had a love of football and grew up watching it. When the city of Jacksonville was named an NFL city, I was so excited. I got stationed here with the Navy in 1980, so I was here before the team, but I knew the night that we were named a team, I wanted to be 'that fan'. I've been a season ticket holder ever since that night.

How, when, and why did you start dressing up, collecting, or becoming more than a regular ordinary fan?

I just knew I wanted to be a superfan. I had to do something to become the face of the Jags. My wife came up with the face and the shirt that I wear. I feel all fans are as passionate as I am about their team. I guess the right face and being in the right place at the right time helps. I always have high spirits for our team.

The headpiece came later on, but it put the whole outfit over-the-top.

What is your favorite NFL moment or team memory?

The first year we went to the Playoffs. I love the way we got there. A player from the opposing team missed a field goal that gave us the win and it was in my end zone. I saw him miss it! Man, what a night that was!

What distinguishes you from other fans of your team?

I'm not sure on this one. I'm not one to blow my own horn. I feel there are a lot of great Jag fans out there. I guess I'm just glad I've been the one picked as the face of the Jags. I love it! I'm never down on the team no matter what.

How did you develop your superfan persona?

My wife came up with the face. I love what the shirt stands for. The headpiece came later on, but it put the whole outfit over the top.

What is your favorite keepsake or piece of memorabilia?

I don't know if I have any one thing, but I do know the finger and shield I got from the team means a lot to me. That's when I knew I was the face of the Jags.

When did you start collecting / building your fan cave?

The Jag Cave started about four or five years ago. I love having parties here at the house for away games. It is a place we can all get together outside to enjoy the pool, play different games, and watch football, plus I do all my cooking out there.

What is your game day ritual? How do you prefer to watch the game?

We get up early. I love to get downtown early, so we get the car packed and game faces on. Once we get down to our parking spot, it is time to have fun! We get the food going, set up for tailgating games, and have fun with all the Jag fans.

How does it feel to be known by your friends and peers as a die-hard fan?

I love it! To come from a small town like Bristolville, Ohio as I did and now to live in a big city like Jacksonville and be known by so many has been great.

What is the best thing about your team?

I guess the best thing about my team is they are my hometown team! Do I need to say more?
