Christian McCaffrey Scores Lightning-Quick 75-Yard TD on the First Play from Scrimmage

Daymn.

Christian McCaffrey would like to welcome you to the 102nd annual Rose Bowl Game. https://t.co/uOAXOvau1X

Christian McCaffrey is stupid fast. There was a clean 15 minutes on the clock in the first quarter when Stanford snapped the ball at their own 25, and sure enough, the 2015 Heisman runner-up caught a pass down the middle lane and just burned Iowa State's attempts to take him down. And then proceeded to take it straight to the house. It was ludicrous.

McCaffrey, the son of former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, has an absolutely preternatural ability to catch and run. He pretty much single handedly led the charge for Stanford's second on the day, though Kevin Hogan took it across the goal line.

Just check out these stats:

14-0 on the Kevin Hogan keeper. Christian McCaffrey has 140 all-purpose yards through two drives, averaging 23 yds/touch.

Yikes. Not sure what the day will bring Iowa just yet. But it's certainly been favorable to Stanford.

UPDATE:

McCaffrey also just laid down one of the nastier punt returns you'll see in a bowl game. A 63-yard stunner for a touchdown.
