Justin Blackmon Arrested for DUI Last Weekend

A clear setback for the promising young athlete.

Jaguars wide receiver and 2012 No. 5 overall draft pick Justin Blackmon hasn't seen much playing time due to his alcohol-related exploits off the field. And now, after getting arrested for a DUI last weekend, his prospects look even more dim.

This is Blackmon's second arrest since his indefinite suspension from the NFL for substance abuse, and a new low for him. Blackmon, still just 25, is four years removed from winning his second consecutive Biletnikoff Award as the best receiver in college football, and was a rare two-time unanimous All-American selection at Oklahoma State.

He flashed plenty of promise in his 2012 rookie season, catching 64 passes for 865 yards receiving and five touchdowns—but he's played in just four NFL games since. In August, Jaguars general manager David Caldwell acknowledged that Blackmon's career is likely over, and the news from this past weekend surely isn't going to help his case.
