The New 'Rogue One' TV Spot Isn't Very New, but It's Still Great

Even recycled shots of AT-ATs and menacing dark-suited Stormtroopers and Forest Whitaker are enough to keep people excited.

We're on track now to get a new Star Wars movie every year from now until the end of recorded time, or at least until President Trump deems science fiction harmful to public health.

Along with the movies, of course, come a long cavalcade of teasers and trailers and promotional images to get the general public suitably hysterical with anticipation. This December, Rogue One—the first of the new Star Wars anthology movies—will hit theaters, and Disney just dropped a new TV spot for the film on us.

Unfortunately, the TV spot is just a TV spot, which means its mostly a recut of the same stuff we saw in the first teaser last April, so we'll have to keep waiting for that money shot of Darth Vader that everyone knows is coming. Even recycled shots of AT-ATs and menacing dark-suited Stormtroopers and Forest Whitaker are enough to keep people excited.

Rogue One is set for release on December 16, but we'll be overwhelmed with more trailers and stuff between now and then.
