Explore the Mestiza Experience at the 'Cósmica' Art Show in Brooklyn

The show is curated by young posh mestiza artists who draw inspiration from the roots and rituals of the borderland experience, Chicana artists of the 70s, and the guy who does the astrology predictions on the Univison channel.

It's unfortunate that when some Americans think of Latina women, all they can conjure up in their mind is the grandma who scrubs their office countertops or the Chiquita banana lady. But there's a lot more to Latina ladies than churros and Windex. So it goes without saying that we're super excited for Cósmica: an art show tonight at the Living Gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn—don’t worry, the location won’t break the Sketchfactor’s sketchiness scale. The show is curated by young posh mestiza artists who draw inspiration from the roots and rituals of the borderland experience, Chicana artists of the 70s, and the guy who does the astrology predictions on the Univison channel. Stop by tonight at 7PM and see juicy collages, photography, paintings, and other hybrid mediums of art by April Siqueiros, Barbara Calderon, Itzel Alejandra, and Maribel Falcon—not to mention there will be live music by Prince of Queens, Felipe Quiroz

Here's a taste of the art you can expect to see at Cósmica
