Whitefish Energy, the tiny electric company with fishy ties to the Trump administration that won a $300 million contract to help rebuild Puerto Rico, is threatening to pull workers off the island after public criticism from San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz.Cruz called the contract “alarming” and said it “should be voided right away, and a proper process which is clear, transparent, legal, moral, and ethical should take place,” in an interview with Yahoo News. Whitefish is based in Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s hometown of Whitefish, Montana.Whitefish took the fight to Twitter, writing, “We share the mayor’s frustration with the situation on Puerto Rico, but her comments are misplaced.”

Cruz quickly responded: “You would think I am the only one in the world who has commented on this. What is it about women having an opinion that irritates some?”
That was enough to make Whitefish go nuclear, threatening to bail on their contract: “We’ve got 44 linemen rebuilding power lines in your city & 40 more men just arrived. Do you want us to send them back or keep working?”
Incredibly, the fight continued.
As of Wednesday, a month after Maria hit, only 25 percent of Puerto Ricans have power.
