China is holding live-fire drills off the Korean peninsula this week in a show of force analysts say is a warning to North Korea in response to its latest nuclear test.China’s navy tested dozens of types of missiles on Monday, and plan to practice defensive and offensive maneuvers with surface ships, submarines, air support and coastguard forces, according to state media.The exercises came shortly after China backed United Nations Security Council sanctions on North Korea, and less than two weeks after Pyongyang conducted its second successful test of an intercontinental ballistic missile in a month.
