Yowzers! Daniel Murphy Hit Home Run so Hard He Left His Name on the Ball

Daniel Murphy hit a home run so hard he left his name on the ball.

That's going to leave a mark! Murphy's HR ball literally has his name on it. #Beast #LGM #Mets pic.twitter.com/u2Vl4LKjgb

Daniel Murphy opened the scoring in the Mets 3-1 win over the Dodgers in Game 1 of their NLDS with a laser of a home run to right field off Clayton Kershaw. Murphy led off the fourth inning with such a vicious swing he branded the ball with his name from his bat. That's a pretty great bit of trivia to bust out about yourself at parties. I would bring it up all the time. "Oh hey, I got that promotion I was hoping for," a friend might say. "Hey, congrats. Have you ever hit a home run in a playoff game so hard you transferred the name printed on your bat onto the ball itself? Because I did that."

After the game, Murphy was joined by the two other Mets instrumental in the win—David Wright, who drove in two runs in the seventh and Jacob deGrom, who struck out 13 in a [sigh] #deGrominant performance—and they were having themselves a good time. Wright started things off by making deGrom's chair shrink down, and then deGrom passed it down the line to Murph, who let out a "Yowzers" as his chair descended, like he was in the middle of solving a mystery with a talking dog.

deGrom messing with Murphy's chair and Murph saying "YOWZERS" is the funniest thing I've ever seen. pic.twitter.com/kRygKb9Dqs

The Mets lead the Dodgers 1-0 and Game 2 is tonight at 9:00 PM, which is really the only bad thing about this series so far.
