United States Are Completely Dismantling Japan in World Cup Final

USWNT have come out like gangbusters in the first half of the World Cup Final against Japan and currently lead 4-0.

Hooooly shit! The United States have come out on absolute fired and lead Japan 4-1 in of the World Cup Final. Carli Lloyd has a goddamned hat trick in the first 16 minutes for the United States, that's how bonkers this thing has been. For Japan, it's the first time they have trailed at any time in this tournament and, hoo boy, what a time for that.

The U.S. wasted no time and opened scoring in the third minute when they earned a corner kick. Megan Rapinoe sent the ball in for a nice little left-footed poke from Lloyd and 1-0 lead.

Two minutes later, the U.S. scored again when Lauren Holiday took a free kick and sent in front of the goal where Julie Johnston flicked it back to Lloyd, who was able to tap it through traffic and into the back of the net. Then Holiday scored a goal of her own off a failed clearance attempt from Japan. She hit a rocket off the volley after the defender headed the ball straight up into the air.

The final goal of the flurry came from Lloyd and it was a hail mary bomb from midfield. Lloyd got her hat trick by exploiting the goalkeeper's position and lobbed it over her head and into the goal.

Take a breath! It's 4-1 and we're not even at the half yet.
