Rutgers Wide Receiver Leonte Carroo Charged with Slamming Woman Into Concrete

Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo is accused of slamming a woman into the concrete outside of a Rutgers football facility. What the hell is going on there?

Add star wide receiver Leonte Carroo to the growing list of past and present Rutgers football players charged with violent crimes in the past few months. Carroo faces charges of domestic violence and a "disorderly person's offense" after an altercation outside a Rutgers football facility with a woman he was dating.

He is accused of "picking her up and slamming her down on a concrete surface, injuring her left hip, both palms, left elbow and left side of the head," according to the complaint. The confrontation outside the Hale Center happened after Rutgers' loss to Washington State on Saturday.

According to the Bergen Record, the altercation was preceded by a fight between two women. Carroo was released on $1,000 bond and has been suspended by the team.

Previously, five other players were dismissed from the team for their involvement in the robberies as well as another unrelated assault that resulted in a broken jaw for one 19-year-old student. Defensive back Andre Boggs was arrested for his part in two home invasions with former student Tejay Johnson. Police also determined that Johnson was involved in an unrelated assault near campus along with Ruhann Peele, Nadir Barnwell, Delon Stephenson, and Razohnn Gross. Peele, Barnwell, Stephenson, Boggs and Gross are no longer with the team.

Nadir Barnwell, a projected starting defensive back, is also part of an investigation concerning head coach Kyle Flood, who may have broken school policy and defied academic staffers when he contacted a professor about Barnwell's grades and eligibility to play. In total, 11 current and former players face charges related to the robberies and assault, and six "current" players are no longer current. Rutgers is a disaster right now and no one seems to be able to stop it from getting worse.

Meanwhile, athletic director Julie Hermann says the football program has her "unwavering support."
