Kevin Kiermaier Robs Home Run on Absurd Leaping Catch

Kevin Kiermaier saved a home run with a fantastic leaping catch at the wall and his pitcher was appreciative, even though he couldn't believe it.

The only thing better than Rays centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier's catch last night might have been Chris Archer's reaction, but we'll get to that in a bit. The catch came early in Baltimore, Archer had thrown just six pitches by the time Manny Machado smoked one to deep centerfield. It looked like for all the world that it was going to be an easy home run and quick 1-0 Baltimore lead, but then Kiermaier showed off his hops and straight-up stole it.

His entire armpit is over the wall in center and he almost folded in half, the wrong way, when his back hits the wall. It's an outstanding catch, and one you can get the full play-by-play on from Archer's face as he watches it unfold. Initially, Archer was just hoping it wouldn't go out, then he came to terms with it, then wait, did he catch that? Seriously?, and then he slowly tries to process everything while sharing a "wow" with the guy Kiermaier just robbed, and finally a sheepish look out to center before tipping his cap.
