Taiwanese Rapper and Poet Aristophanes Returns With The Psych Infused ‘SpaceBird’

Ahead of her debut Australian tour, the Grimes endorsed rapper teams up with Ta-Ku's Sam Kuzich.

Aristophanes was an ancient Greek playwright, revered as the "Father of Comedy". Fast forward a thousand odd-years and his name now lives on within a female Taiwanese rapper, born Pan Wei Ju.

The acclaimed rapper/poet/instrumentalist has a distinctive voice and her raps are offbeat, playful and sensual. It's easy to see why she caught the attention of Grimes, which ultimately led to a collaboration on Grimes' 2015 album Art Angels on the fierce track "Scream'"

In "SpaceBird", produced by Ta-ku's Sam Kuzich, she enters a psychedelic realm. On an intoxicating slow beat, Kuzich's production compliments her quick, anxious rapping style to serve up a track that takes on gender and sexuality.

Her debut album, Human Become Machines, is set for release on February 24 via Big Picnic Records.
