FILMS THAT WERE BANNED FOR STUPID REASONS

Censors aren't as militantly destructive as they used to be. Showing a man and woman chastely lying in bed – together! – is no longer a big deal. Showing them getting down to business is no longer a big deal. Hell, showing a girl and a girl getting down to business is no longer a big deal. Yup, it seems censors have chilled out over the years and unleashed an increasing number of films like Nymphomaniac and Blue Is the Warmest Colour without so much as a blush. If we've learnt anything from the litany of injustices below, it's that Barney – purple dinosaur Barney – is way more radical than he appears. More radical than, say, Big Bird from Sesame Street; which we thought we'd never say.

THE 'FARGO' TV SERIES LOOKS TERRIBLE

Yahoo have the first look at the 10-episode TV series of Fargo, the much-loved 1996 Coen brothers movie, and, at the risk of sounding cynical, it looks, sounds and smells like utter crap. Why? Well…

As we previously reported, the Coen brothers will be attached solely as executive producers, which means minimal to no creative input. We suspect – and all credit to them – that they gave the go ahead simply to earn a bit of dough on the side. One thing's clear: they definitely don't see this as a creative endeavour.
