Obama to Address Dallas Prayer Service
President Barack Obama will speak at a prayer service in Dallas today, following the killing of five police officers. Both Vice President Joe Biden and former president George W. Bush will join Obama at the service honoring the Dallas victims and survivors. Bush is also expected to speak. —USA Today

Sanders Anticipated to Endorse Clinton at Joint Rally
Bernie Sanders will join Hillary Clinton at a rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, today, where he is expected to endorse the presumptive Democrat nominee. This follows the release of a draft of the Democratic Party platform that contained many ideas supported by Sanders and Clinton announcing that she would back free in-state college tuition for families making $125,000 or less, a policy Sanders also favors. —TIME

Michigan Courthouse Shooting Investigated
Michigan governor Rick Snyder said state police were investigating how a prison inmate was able to kill two bailiffs and wound two others at Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph. Larry Darnell Gordon, 45, was being escorted to jail when he stole a deputy's gun and began shooting before he was shot to death by police officers.—ABC News

Black and Hispanic People More Likely to Be Victims of Police Brutality
A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that non-white civilians were 50 percent more likely to be subject to police using force, such as being grabbed, handcuffed, hit or slammed against a wall. Even when black civilians are reported compliant, they are 21 percent more likely to endure some kind of force.—VICE News

Leaders in South Sudan Order Ceasefire
South Sudan's president Salva Kiir has ordered government troops to "disengage" from fighting rival forces loyal to Vice President Riek Machar, following several days of violence. Machar has also ordered his troops to stop fighting. At least 272 people have been killed in fighting since Thursday.—Al Jazeera

Bomb Attack in Baghdad Kills Nine
At least nine people were killed and 32 others injured when a car packed with explosives was detonated in the Rashidiya district just north of Baghdad. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but ISIS has regularly carried out such bombings in the capital.—Reuters

Court Rejects Beijing Claims on South China Sea
The Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague has ruled against Chinese claims to territorial rights in South China Sea. The court said there was no evidence that China had historical control over the waters or resources. China dismissed the ruling as "ill-founded."—BBC News

IMF Warns Italy of a Two-Decade Recession
The International Monetary Fund has warned Italy of two "lost decades," predicting that the country's economy will not return to the levels seen before the 2008 financial crisis until the mid 2020s.
