Walcott and Giroud Impressively Open Arsenal's Account Against Man City

With a little nutmeg to top it all off like a delicious Christmas drink.

Arsenal and Manchester City are putting on a good show tonight at Emirates Stadium. Despite a dominating show from Man City in the first few minutes, in which they wove a series of passes resulting in a few deadly opportunities, Arsenal opened their account on their first shot of the game: a goal from distance by Theo Walcott. And minutes later, a stunner from Olivier Giroud.

For the first goal, Walcott took a touch, caught his defender wrong-footed, and absolutely punished him with about a yard of space for the wind-up. A soft touch to set up the strike, and a clean bee-line into the side netting, just outside of the keeper's reach. Mad props to Mesut Özil for ducking in just the nick of time to allow Walcott's ball to clear through.

Speaking of Özil: leave it to the deadly No. 10 to come in with a beautifully-weighted through ball that opened up the Man City defense like a can of string beans. Handsomepants Giroud comes in with a one-touch off of Özil's pass to top the day off with a little bit of nutmeg—like a delightful Christmas drink. Delicious.
