Mad Decent boss Diplo said that his collaboration with Skrillex, Jack Ü, is on hold for the time being while he focuses on his Major Lazer project. Diplo was speaking on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show last night promoting Major Lazer's latest single, "Run Up," which features Nicki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR.
"We have a lot of records we wrote together, me and Skrillex, but I don't think it's time to put those out now," he said. "I'm just trying to concentrate on the Major Lazer material."
Diplo and Skrillex have been collaborating together as Jack Ü since 2013, with their first single, "Take Ü There" featuring Kiesza coming out in 2014. At the 2016 Grammys, the pair scooped up two awards for their runaway hit with Justin Bieber, "Where Are Ü Now", as well as their debut album, Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü.
Despite hints that the pair were working on new music with Florence + The Machine, Jack Ü didn't release any music last year. In August, Skrillex hinted in a since-deleted tweet that Jack Ü wouldn't be touring for a ""a long, long time."
