No One Touched the Reddit Button for a Whole 49 Seconds

It turned red. That’s it.

Remember the Reddit button?

If not, here's a quick refresher: On April 1, a button appeared on Reddit that's connected to a 60 second countdown clock. Every time a user presses the button, it resets back to a minute and counts down once again. Subsequently, it's been tearing the social news website apart because people can't keep their grubby paws off it.

Anyway, an update! This morning at around 7 AM Eastern Time, the button went untouched for 49 seconds (down to the :11 mark) — the closest it has been to the zero second.

What happens when the button hits zero is anyone's guess, but it offered a clue because it switched from grey to red. Spooky!

Who knows how long it'll be until it hits zero, but the payoff better be good.
