Omarosa Manigault Newman, a White House aide and the most famous contestant on Donald Trump’s long-running reality TV show “The Apprentice,” is out of the Trump administration. And it sounds just as dramatic as an episode of the show.

The official word is that Omarosa resigned from her post as director of communications for the Office of the Public Liaison “to pursue other opportunities,” according to press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. But reports say she may have been fired — and that the split was far more acrimonious.

Nevertheless, Omarosa will depart from her position at the White House on January 20 of next year.

“We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service,” Sanders said.

Manigault’s most noteworthy episode in the White House came after her wedding reception, when she reportedly invited her 39-person bridal party to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for a photoshoot, unannounced. The White House quickly banned Omarosa from posting any of the photos online, citing ethical and security concerns.

Sanders has previously acknowledged that operations at the Office of Public Liaison, which coordinates public speaking engagements for the executive branch, “were not as smooth as they could have been.”
