Lil Uzi Vert Confirms He's Making a Rock Album in Zane Lowe Interview

"Hayley Williams... she's like the best of my generation."

Lil Uzi Vert recently spoke to Zane Lowe of Beats 1 about his new album Luv is Rage 2 and what his immediate next plans are. For Uzi, that seems to be his mythical rock album, which he says will feature an "all-chicks" band and will be recorded like a rap album, "off the top," as Lowe puts it. "Maybe enough people will like it and it'll go triple-platinum," says Uzi with a shrug. When asked about who he's looking to for inspiration on his melodies, Uzi instantly answers that it's Paramore singer Hayley Williams. "She's like, the best," he says," It's hard to top that. It's nobody, bro."

We also get tidbits about Uzi's other idol Marilyn Manson and how he's "annoying," according to Uzi, because he apparently never answers FaceTime calls.

Lil Uzi Vert: He's not gonna answer.
Zane Lowe: He's not gonna answer the phone?
Lil Uzi Vert: "Ayo call me back." End.

He still finds Manson's newer music "beautiful," though. Elsewhere, Uzi refers to Pharrell as "the king of the artists" ("somebody that has way more clout than him will still look at him like he's the biggest person ever") and calls Playboi Carti his "little brother" ("I look at Carti like, it's time to turn up like, you young. It's just time to turn up. You're here for a reason"). It's an informative, insightful interview, so give the whole thing a watch above.
