Update: Nicki Minaj announced on Twitter that Queen is getting a new release date. Her upcoming album will be released August 10.

It's been four years since Nicki Minaj released her last studio album, The Pinkprint, and the wait for her followup is almost over. After dropping singles "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz" in a highly anticipated interview with Zane Lowe, the Queens rapper revealed the details of her fourth studio album on the red carpet of the Met Gala.

"Album dropping, June 15. It's called 'Queen,'" she says looking directly into the camera. She's set to perform at the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 19, which is likely to give us a glimpse of more clues of what Queen will sound like. Four years is a long time and things have certainly changed since Pinkprint. If her interview with Beats 1 is any indication of what is to come, we can expect to hear more about the tension that became public surrounding her and Migos, and her perspective of Meek Mill's legal battle.
