Day 187: "Renaissance Rap Remix" feat. Lil Wayne and Raekwon – Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes, The Abstract and the Dragon , 2013

"I ain't givin' y'all my microphone no more 'cause y'all tear it up when you get it," says Q-Tip at the end of this posse cut, which has to be as close to a pure hit of good rhymes as a person can find anywhere. Since we were just talking about Lil Wayne and Raekwon on a track, let's mention this one because it comes at Wayne's ostensible creative nadir yet features him just rapping in full real hip-hop effect, going toe-to-toe with three of New York's most legendary MCs and not missing a beat. How good is it? Well Wayne says, "Money on the dinner table like 'let's eat cash'" and riffs that "ever since I made it out of middle America / everybody want to be in my genital area." Plus you get Rae, Tip, and Busta! This is a perfect chill rap track for your Sunday afternoon. Don't make the mistake of ignoring it. Day 187 is out here killin' em!
