MIXED BY Kidnap Kid

This dude's beats will steal your soul.

Kidnap Kid's music is to me what crack rocks are to Rob Ford—and I've been hooked since the first tune I ever heard. Tracks like "So Close" and "Animaux" invade your eardrums and slide down your spine like some sort of buttery syrup, wrapping you up in gentle rolling basslines, warm melodic synths and euphoric vocal hooks—elements that complement each other like a well-balanced food pyramid.

Native to Sheffield, England, and on the roster at extremely buzzing label Black Butter Records (home to Gorgon City, Rudimental and Clean Bandit), Kidnap Kid's release schedule has thus far been pretty sparse. But a couple weeks ago he hit us with his latest release, an EP entitled Stronger which includes the title track of the same name, a progressive late-night charmer, as well as "Like You Used To" a gentle, more vocally-tinged track that induces some serious eyes-closed, body swaying hypnosis.

And to top it all off, this dude can obviously throw down a stellar DJ mix, and he went all in for us on this latest MIXED BY. Listen to this hour mix and his cheeky monikor will make pefect sense—this dude's beats will steal your soul.
