Iceland Take 2-1 Lead over England in First 18 Minutes

England and Iceland traded two quick goals in the first six minutes of the match.

The match was not yet six minutes old and we've already had a penalty kick goal for England, and a stunning equalizer for Iceland. Raheem Sterling won a the penalty on a run in the 4th minute when the Iceland keeper crashed into him in the goal box. The kick went to Wayne Rooney and he confidently deposited it in the bottom corner of the goal. It looked like maybe Iceland were finally turning back into a pumpkin but, like 25 seconds later they scored another unlikely goal to level things once again.

Iceland had a long throw in–a particular skill of Aron Gunnarsson's—that got headed to the edge of the box and was teed up perfectly for Ragnar Sigurdsson to volley past a hapless Joe Hart. Then, incredibly, Iceland took the lead on a fairly terrible effort from Hart in the 18th minute. Kolbeinn Sigthórsson simply rolled one through the box—it took a slight deflection, but it was slow-moving—and Hart feebly dove for it and only got a finger on it. Iceland now lead 2-1 and we are not even 20 minutes into the match.

Joe Hart is not enjoying himself very much right now.
