Anamanaguchi Glitched Out Cyndi Lauper

It turns out girls, boys AND video game characters just wanna have fun

Anamanaguchi. Say it out loud three times fast, tap your toes, and you're transported to the inside of an NES. That's what happened to Cyndi Lauper. Her 80s pop classic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" has been put through the 8-bit ringer by Anamanaguchi, and Lauper's never sounded more unusual.

You know when you win an old platform video game and all the pixellated confetti appears on screen and the characters repeat the same victory motion while major key arpeggios repeat ad nauseum and you bathe in the neon glow of achievement and fleeting youth? Yeah. It's kind of like that. Congratulations!

Lauper's She's So Unusual:Remixed digital EP is set for release on October 14th, and it features remixes from the likes of Yolanda Be Cool and Nervo in addition to this Anamanaguchi ditty.

You can find the 30th Anniversary Edition of She's So Unusual right here.
