Feel Saarid (ex-VHS or Beta) and Chrome Canyon's New, Soft Touch

Prepare yourself. It's funky.

For Chrome Canyon, the story of Soft Touch began a long time ago. "Middle School," he tells THUMP. "A friend passes me Pure Funk - that classic compilation of every "wedding party" hit. So cheesy, I know. It was a classic white boy cathartic moment. "

Fast forward a few years and he was putting out records like the galactic instrumental space opera Elemental Themes on Stones Throw, while his newfound partner-to-be, Saarid AKA Mark Palgy was putting out indie-dance classics like "Night on Fire" with VHS or Beta.

That's some funky pedigree, but nothing brings the level of funky house the duo work with Soft Touch. He explains, "We discovered we had really good creative chemistry, so we decided to just get some tracks together ourselves and put them out. Soft Touch is what I come to when I want to just go for pure aestheticism. Whatever feels good and makes you tap along or dance without pretense, that's what I enjoy about the genre, and what this project is all about."

We've got the exclusive premiere of "Get on Up," feat. Kianah. If you're not on your feet by the end of this track, you should probably go see a podiatrist.
