Well, you might think you've just about heard it all at this point. But wait. After being charged with two counts of indecent exposure on two consecutive days with two different tutors, Texas A&M sophomore receiver Kirk Merritt pleaded not guilty, using the defense that he "had a bad case of jock itch," according to the Houston Chronicle.The two tutors, who work in Texas A&M's Bright Football complex, alleged that Merritt exposed and touched himself twice while "in arm's reach" of the women. Here is the actual language that his lawyer, Rick Davis, used in a statement to the Chronicle:"While Kirk is very embarrassed about this situation, and has apologized to the two tutors that he offended, he did not intend to gratify anyone by exposing himself. The fact is that Kirk had a bad case of jock itch."Merritt, a four-star transfer from Oregon to A&M last year, was first accused of exposing himself on October 24, and allegedly subjected another victim to the same act just a day later after pulling down his shorts and holding himself.Per the Chronicle, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin was not available for comment because he was "participating in an A&M letterman's golf outing and could not immediately be reached."
