Troy Ave Was Shot in Brooklyn on Christmas Day

No arrests have been made so far.

Troy Ave, the Crown Heights rapper involved in the fatal shooting at Irving Plaza in May, was shot twice in Brooklyn on Christmas Day. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The shooting occurred at East 91st Ave and Linden Boulevard in the East Flatbush neighborhood. Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins, was approached by the gunman at 4:20 PM while sitting in his red Maserati. A number of rounds were fired into the car with two shots hitting Collins. According to the New York Times, police are investigating the incident, though no arrests have been made and they have no description of the gunman.

"Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again… on Christmas," one of Collins's attorneys, Scott Leemon, said in a statement obtained by Billboard. "In Brooklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning — he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery."

Collins was arrested in May after a shooting at Irving Plaza that left one person dead and three others, including Collins himself, injured. He pleaded not guilty to a series of charges including second-degree murder later that month. He was released on $500,000 bail in July.
