Liberia has endured the largest Ebola outbreak in history. The deadly hemorrhagic fever first appeared in neighboring Guinea in December 2013, then crossed into Liberia and Sierra Leone. Since the outbreak began, 28,000 people have contracted the virus in the three West African countries, and more than 10,000 of those infections occurred in Liberia.

VICE News partnered with digital artist and video director Chris Milk, along with the United Nations, to bring viewers to Liberia to meet Ebola survivor Decontee Davis, who contracted the virus in August 2014. Now fully recovered, Davis cares for children in her village who have been orphaned and stigmatized by the disease.
