NYC Bombing Suspect Allegedly an ISIS Sympathizer
The 27-year man suspected of setting off a pipe bomb in a Manhattan subway corridor Monday said he acted at least in part to avenge US strikes on ISIS in Syria, according to anonymous law enforcement officials. Akayed Ullah, who was being treated for serious burn injuries, also told law enforcement he picked the passageway near Times Square because of the Christmas posters in the area. He was believed to have acted on his own.—The New York Times

Trump Makes Final Push for Roy Moore
The president recorded a robocall on behalf of the Senate candidate ahead of Tuesday's special election in Alabama, explaining that the Republicans “need” Moore to win. Barack Obama reportedly made a robocall for Moore’s Democratic rival Doug Jones. At Moore’s last rally Monday night, his wife Kayla rejected accusations her husband was anti-Semitic, saying that “one of our attorneys is a Jew.”—CBS News / VICE News

Transgender Recruits Will Get to Enlist in Military
A Department of Defense official said transgender people will be able to sign up for military service as of January 1. The announcement came after the Trump administration tried to ban trans individuals from the military, and federal courts ruled against the plan.—VICE News

NFL Network Broadcasters Suspended Over Alleged Sexual Harassment
Football analysts Marshall Faulk, Ike Taylor, and Heath Evans were suspended by the network after a former wardrobe stylist filed a lawsuit claiming they sexually harassed her at work. Jami Cantor further alleged NFL Network’s former executive producer Eric Weinberger sent her nude photos and tried to make her touch his groin.—Bloomberg

UK Ready to Welcome Trump in 2018
Donald Trump is expected to visit the UK early next year, despite public clashes with Prime Minister Theresa May and London's mayor, Sadiq Khan. According to the US ambassador to the UK Woody Johnson, Trump could open the new embassy in London. Johnson said Trump liked to “ruffle feathers” but retained a “very, very good relationship” with the UK.—The Guardian

Supermajority of Mexicans Do Not Want Gang Amnesty
A new poll for El Universal found around 66 percent of people in Mexico don't want gang or cartel members to be granted amnesty from prosecution, a radical new idea for cutting violence in the country. Presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador recently said he was willing to consider the move. “You can’t fight fire with fire,” he said.—Reuters

Amnesty International Accuses EU of Supporting Migrant Abuse
The human rights NGO said European governments have been helping authorities in Libya that, in turn, have conspired with criminal networks to exploit the refugees and migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean. John Dalhuisen, Amnesty International’s Europe director, said EU leaders were “complicit in these abuses.”—BBC News

France Offers Financial Haven to US Climate Scientists
French President Emmanuel Macron awarded 18 scientists with “Make Our Planet Great Again” climate research grants at a Monday night ceremony. The scientists included 13 based in the US, where it has become increasingly difficult to access funding under the Trump administration. They now have a chance to continue their work expense-free in the EU.—AP

Apple bought the music app in a deal believed to be worth around $400 million. Confirming the sale, Shazam said, “We can’t imagine a better home for Shazam to enable us to continue innovating and delivering magic for our users.”—Noisey

Mario Batali Apologizes Following Sexual Misconduct Report
