Dive Into the World of NYC Underground Racing with VICE's 'Street Gods'

On Sunday, VICE premiered the first installment of its new docuseries Street Gods: Inside NYC's Underground Car Meets. The four-part series will explore a new facet of New York City's vibrant car club and car meet culture. The first episode, which is streaming below, hones in on Mpireboyz, a tight-knit car club desperately trying to legitimize and recognize their brand of car and motorbike racing as an organized and legal sport. The in-depth and intimate footage at this largely unknown subculture is worth the watch alone.

In a statement, associate producer Marc Esannason says of the series, "A bold new culture has risen in motorsports—dirt bikes and cars are emerging on the streets and highways nationally as well as internationally. VICE gave us the ability and platform to tell the story raw and unfiltered." It's set to air each Sunday until January 5, 2020, exclusively on VICE and VICE Digital's YouTube channels. Watch below.
