Be Your Own VJ: DL a Visuals Kit Used for EDC Stages

Accent Creative is straight up giving away the tools they used to make the Basspod's wicked aesthetic.

Can you imagine going to a festival with no visuals? Nah. Neither could we. As partying becomes more completely experiential, people are beginning to realize the important of visuals guys, or VJs. Accent Creative paired with the ever-present V Squared Labs to run the visuals for the Basspod at EDC, featuring the likes of Netsky, Loadstar, and Calyx and TeeBee. If you were there, the visuals are not something you'll be forgetting about any time soon. Take a gander:

When we got word that Accent were straight-up giving away a free kit of the loops that made their EDC performance so special, we had to find out what was going on. We caught up with lead designer at Accent, Miguel Vega.

"While the art of VJing has certainly grown a lot with acts including VJs on their touring schedule, it's still a bit of a mystery for most people," he tells THUMP. "I'm hoping that this kit might help as an incentive to explore the art form."

Vega continues, "In order to enhance the experience for the crowd, it is imperative that the importance of the VJ is not ignored. A VJ is never an operator, but instead an artist, and needs to be able to have full control of the graphic output and mix it live on the spot, coordinating with laser, pyro and light designers to become an experience enhancer."

"By teaming up with Kaizan Records an independent drum n bass label from Japan and with Dataset, a clothing line dedicated strictly to supporting underground bass music, we gathered some ideas and the Bass Music kit for VJs was born."
