James Curd & Fred Everything Made Sweet Disco-House Together

The result is "Red," their new collaborative EP. Listen exclusively at THUMP!

The names Jimmy and Fred are probably familiar to you, and not only because they're two of the most common names in the Western world—they're familiar because they're short for James Curd and Fred Everything. Curd, who has released records on DFA and Permanent Vacation, joined forces with Fred, a Canadian house stalwart and 20:20 Vision regular, to create a smoldering and dark disco-house bomb titled "Red." The track, which comes courtesy of heavyweight German label Exploited, will be available on Beatport starting May 19, and a global release will follow two weeks later. The single includes remixes from Permanent Vacation affiliate Mirror People and Hotflush up-and-comer Locked Groove, whose silky version of "Red" possesses a hypnotizing charm.
