Revenge Porn Jackass Hunter Moore Indicted on Hacking Charges

It’s looking like the face of revenge porn is finally getting his: Hunter Moore was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday on charges stemming from his now-defunct site isanyoneup.com.

Between 2009 and 2012, Moore’s site posted thousands of revenge porn pictures sent in by ex-boyfriends and girlfriends and, sometimes, people themselves.

But it turns out Hunna wasn’t just allowing scorned lovers to send in nude pictures of their exes. Moore was allegedly actively engaged in hacking victims’ emails and stealing photos from their accounts. According to the indictment, available below, Moore is accused of “access[ing] a protected computer without authorization to obtain information for private financial gain.” Moore allegedly hired Charles Evens to hack into at least eight victims’ emails between October 2011 and March 2012.

Like many recent high-profile busts, Moore didn’t cover his e-tracks while all this was going on. Moore openly discussed the hacking with Evens in emails sent between the two on accounts registered to isanyoneup, Moore, and Moore’s mother. He also used Paypal accounts connected with those accounts to send money to Evens in exchange for nude photos that later ended up on his website.

It’s about time Moore got his comeuppance: The aspiring EDM DJ, Rolling Stone profile subject, and human piece of trash has taken to Twitter to encourage his weird cult of followers to stick weird shit up their asses, asked “why do some vaginas hang so much,” and asked girls to pee on each other. And that’s just in the last 24 hours.

He’s been called the “Internet’s most hated man,” been banned by Facebook, slandered by Anderson Cooper, and responded to cease-and-desist letters with “LOL.” Rolling Stone said that when the FBI raided his home in May, he was “fucking scared shitless.” Nonetheless, Moore insisted that what he was doing wasn’t “sleazy” and said he only shut down the website because he “honestly [couldn’t] take another underage kid getting submitted and having to go through the process of reporting it and dealing with all the legal drama of the situation.”

Moore has vehemently defended the site, saying he did nothing illegal and that he was simply the first person to take revenge porn and monetize it.

Lawmakers have increasingly tried to ban revenge porn—so far, New Jersey and California have enacted revenge porn laws and many other states are considering them. But it looks like, in this case, Moore was indicted specifically for (paying for) hacking, not on revenge porn charges. The case is being investigated by US District Attorney Andre Birotte Jr., the same guy who once unsuccessfully investigated Lance Armstrong on fraud, drug trafficking, and money laundering charges.

Hunna, who generally can’t keep off Twitter for more than 5 seconds at a time, last tweeted this morning, when he told Justin Bieber he was going to help bust him out of jail. Looks like he might be doing it from the inside.
