It's off the London producer's first new music since 2013.

Since the release of her grime-influenced debut LP Blue Gardens in 2013, London producer E.M.M.A. has been busy. She's led and created workshops teaching women DJing and production techniques, hosted a radio show, and has been working on new material. On April 7 she shares those sounds on the single "Glacé," her first release since the debut.

The single comes out from Astral Plane Recordings and contains both the original and a remix by Leeds-based Gobstopper signee Iglew. Having already dropped the original, today E.M.M.A. shares with THUMP the remix, which you can listen to below. Iglew puts a molasses spin on the graceful synth work and new wave percussion of the original.

"I wanted to make something hypnotic and mysterious while touching on some of the influences I share with E.M.M.A." explained Iglew in an email to THUMP. "The remix repurposes many elements from the original, placing them against a different contextual background while hopefully retaining a shade of the sonic charm present in the original."

E.M.M.A shared that she and Iglew spent time together "recording reverb sounds" in her stairwell, having fun, and getting to know each other's styles.

"I wanted Iglew to do the remix because I knew he'd be able to grab hold of something important in the track and take it to a whole other mood and space," explained E.M.M.A. "I'm glad to have his take on 'Glacé.'"

Have a listen to Iglew's remix below, and pre-order the single from The Astral Plane's Bandcamp here.
