Public Access Beats: Julia Child Remixed, "Keep on Cooking"

The thing is that these PBS remixes should be way worse than they are. I'd honestly put off paying much attention to the first couple, "Mister Rogers":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzXaFbxDcM&feature=relmfu and "Bob Ross":http://www.youtube.com/watch...

The thing is that these PBS remixes should be way worse than they are. I’d honestly put off paying much attention to the first couple, Mister Rogers and Bob Ross, because it sounds so goddamn internet-y and, in a way, kind of desperate: pop music reimaginings of PBS’ biggest historical luminaries with the help of Auto-tune and old footage. The Julia Child remix, released to coincide with the kitchen culture/cooking show pioneer’s 100th birthday, is surprisingly affectionate and, while ironic pretty much by definition, it’s not spoofing or making fun like the Saturday Night Live Digital Short you kind of expect.
