Ahead of Unsound Festival's return to Kraków, Poland this weekend, organizers announced today the opening of their new afterparty venue, 89.

According to the Unsound website, 89 is named after the year Hotel Forum (a key venue also utilized for the festival) opened, and it's also the same year communism ended in Poland. A former strip club, the space is described as maintaining its original décor: "You might think you've dropped into a David Lynch movie," the site states. It will be run in partnership with neighboring venue Forum Przestrzenie, and will focus on dance music during weekends, and on experimental music during weekdays. No guestlist or photos will be allowed.

Two pre-opening parties will be held at Forum as part of the festival's afterparties programming. Saturday, October 22 will host Tin Man, Debonair, and Florentino; and the next night will feature Miles Whittaker, Kosel, and Not Waving.

Unsound Kraków takes place October 16-23, and this year's theme is "dislocation." Artists scheduled to play the weeklong event include Africaine 808, Anthony "Shake" Shakir, Veronica Vasicka, Soichi Terada, Paula Temple, and more.

At last year's Unsound Kraków, THUMP partied in an underground cave rave in the debut of our new travel series, Rave New World.
