Arizona Coyotes Fan Calls Glendale Mayor "Childish" and "Pathetic" In Amazing City Council Tirade

Phoenix Coyotes fans were given the opportunity to speak after the Glendale City Council voted to dissolve the city's lease agreement with the team, and one fan let them have it.

Two years after signing a 15-year, $225 million lease agreement with the Arizona Coyotes, the city of Glendale recently voted to cancel the deal. At an open City Council meeting, residents were given the chance to voice their concerns and speak to the members who voted 5-2 in support of dissolving the agreement. One woman did not waste the opportunity.

The dissolution was based on a very loopehole-y state statute that allows for deals to be negated if an employee directly involved in one side of the deal becomes an employee of the other party. The Coyotes hired Glendale's former city attorney Craig Tindall in August 2013, and now the city and Mayor Jerry Weiers are worried about the process that made the agreement possible. Tindall stepped away from his position with the city in April, three months before the lease agreement was signed and was paid through September as part of his severance package with the city.

The Coyotes have been in rough shape for a while. The former owner bankrupted the team and the NHL took over control for four years before an ownership group called IceArizona bought the team in 2013 and provided a bit of stability. Shortly after purchasing the team, the Coyotes and the city agreed to the lease. Now, the team is back in limbo. But they will be suing the city for $200 million, as well as injunctive relief to prevent the city from following through while the lawsuit is pending.

Which brings us to Wednesday night's City Council meeting and Coyotes season ticket holder Ronda Pearson. She walked right up to the podium and for a minute and a half she pointed her finger at the mayor and the rest of the council and shamed them all for being disrespectful snakes.
