The United States Women's National Team defeated Germany 2-1 to win the Inaugural edition of the SheBelieves Cup last night, and Alex Morgan took home the Golden Ball and Boot. As you can see above, the awards are not without merit. Germany only needed a draw to win the tournament. They took a 29th minute 1-0 lead, requiring the USWNT to score two goals for a win. Six minutes later, Morgan tracked down a through ball from Meghan Klingenberg and touched it over a Germany defender with her left foot, and then slammed in a volley with her right for a nifty little bit of hustle bustle.Six minutes after that, Samantha Mewis scored the game-winner on a deflection that still probably should have been stopped by the German keeper.
