The Painfully Common Story Of Children Tricked Into Sex Trafficking

New UNICEF Report shows five-fold increase in the number of refugee and migrant children traveling alone since 2010.

Later this month, world leaders will be meeting on the southern shores of Italy to discuss amongst other things the plight of migrants and refugees. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is putting pressure on governments to adopt an agenda to protect refugee and migrant children and has committed its resources to helping child refugees who are vulnerable to dangerous predators.

UNICEF's new social campaign, #AChildIsAChild, brings awareness to the experiences of migrant children. Watch the story of "Joy," 17-year-old refugee from Nigeria as she explains how she escaped the sex-trafficking in the video above.
