'Peridium' is a point-and-click adventure set in a terrifying Arctic research lab.

Howling wind. A research lab standing lonely in the ice and snow. The creeping feeling that something—no, everything—has gone very wrong. Welcome to Peridium, a short point-and-click adventure game (made for #AdvJam2017) that drops you into said lab just after everything has gone to shit. It is wonderfully, unabashedly playing off of The Thing.

Some sort of horrifying fungi has taken over the crew's minds. Dead bodies and blood litter the base. It's up to you, as one of the only survivors, to solve the requisite puzzles and try to make sense of the situation.

Peridium is incredibly robust for a game made in five days. The music is perfectly eerie. The pixel art gorgeously detailed (you know, as gorgeous as bloated bodies get). The voice acting is better than it is in many full-length and full-priced adventures. And generally, it's hard to go wrong with this particular setting, especially when the dread and paranoia are tuned up as they are here.

You can download Peridium for Mac, PC and Linux for free on its GameJolt Page.
