Morgan Schick and rest of the team at The Bon Vivants are on a mission. They would like the world to know that Ancho Reyes chile liqueur and apple cider go together like Santa Claus and a pack of ornery reindeer.

To that end, they've shared with us their recipe for Ancho in Cider, one hell of an autumnal highball that is about as easy to make as drinks come. Combining the smoky, spicy embrace of Ancho Reyes with the familiar warmth and sweet bite of apple cider, this drink will take you into winter comfortably.

Toss in an orange slice studded with cloves and a dash of Angostura bitters, and you have yourself one fine drink to sip beside your imaginary fireplace.

RECIPE: Ancho in Cider

This might be the best way to stay warm—and get drunk while doing it.
