EDM's crossover into the mainstream continues with only a few weeks left in 2016.

Most recently, comedian Nick Kroll and actress Reese Witherspoon recorded an EDM cover of Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off," off the pop singer's most recent album, 1989. The strange cover was created for the new kids animated movie Sing, which will showcase a number of genre-bending covers for audiences.

In addition to the Taylor Swift-EDM crossover, the soundtrack for Sing also includes Senor Coconut and His Orchestra's Latin cover of Daft Punk's "Around the World." The track was originally released in 2008.

Listen to the "Shake It Off" and "Around the World" covers below. In August, we suggested listeners stop confusing EDM with all other genres of electronic music.
