Dean Blunt's Babyfather Project Lines Up North American Tour

London-based musician and former Hype Williams member Dean Blunt has announced that his Babyfather project will head to North America next month for a short tour. The excursion will start in New York City at the Panther Room and close out eight days later at Montreal's POP Festival. As things tend to be with Blunt's projects, it is unclear whether he will be joined by his bandmates DJ Escrow, Gassman D, Triumph Allah, and Lady T.

Today, Babyfather also shared its first ever remix, taking on Honolulu/Berlin duo 18+'s track "Drama" off its 2016 LP Collect. The result is built around an unhurried, extended groove and features DJ Escrow's pitched-up voice, loosely spitting over a delectably looping soul sample.

Babyfather's LP BBF Hosted by DJ Escrow, released in April, is one of our favorite electronic albums of 2016 so far. After near four years of almost total silence, Hype Williams just released a new album, but apparently neither Blunt nor original co-founding member Inga Copeland are in the band anymore.

Babyfather tour dates:

September 14 - New York, NY - Panther Room
September 15 - Detroit, MI - El Club
September 17 - Atlanta, GA - 787 Windsor
September 21 - Toronto, CA - The Velvet Underground
September 22 - Montreal, CA - POP Festival
