Royals Open The World Series with an Inside-the-Park Home Run

The Royals led off the game with an inside the park home run.

Well, shit. How's that for a start to the World Series? Alcides Escobar laced Matt Harvey's first pitch of the game into the gap in left center between Michael Conforto and Yoenis Cespedes. it kicked off Cespedes's foot and rolled behind the two of them, heading back for the left field line. Escobar was motoring around third as Conforto picked the ball up and there wasn't even a play at the plate.

It was the 12th inside the park home run in World Series history and the first time it's happened to lead off a World Series game since 1903.
